A/C or notPost in: Posts of Belize interest, by skistrail on April 10th, 2017
Most homes in the Corozal area and probably Belize are not air conditioned. There are several things to consider pro and con about A/C. Homes are not insulated, so it takes more energy to cool homes here. Electricity is not cheap here. There are two kinds of A/C units available here. One uses less power to cool, but is more expensive. The other uses more power but cost less to buy. Depending whether you are a snowbird or a part timer, the less expensive might be worth it. For day in use the more expensive unit may cost less in the long run.
Most homes here have galacy windows. They do not seal well so cooling a home with this type of window can be very costly.
